A FIELD
TRIP FOR YOUR STUDENTS that is fun, exiting, informative,
covers history, math and the arts in one event. It is the
perfect opportunity to bring students to the theater in an
economical fashion. The Concert Preview Series takes our Educational
Performance and adds pieces from the Houston Metropolitan
Dance Company’s repertoire to give viewers a glimpse
of our full-length concert performance. We provide a hands-on
setting where students experience professional level lighting,
costumes, and makeup usually only found in season performances.
In the Cullen Theater/Wortham Center students also have the
incredible opportunity to converse with The Houston Metropolitan
Dance Company members and choreographers during an interactive
question/answer session. Styles of dance include jazz, ballet,
modern and tap, as well as today’s most popular, Hip
Hop.

“Congratulations
on the quality of the show and the rapid evolution of HMDC into
an outstanding resource for dance education and powerfully creative
dance company".The dancers perform, instruct, entertain,
and inspire young people to participate in the performing arts.
In addition, the company provides mentorships through long-term
residencies in the community. Some of the relationships we have
established include partnerships with the Children’s Museum,
Houston ISD, Miller Outdoor Theater, Society for the Performing
Arts, and Family for Urban Survival and Beyond Excellence. |
